Financial Assistance and Referrals

Our Veteran Service Officers are your advocates and will help you navigate available entitlements and support programs.

EMERGENCY EXPENSES SUPPORT:

Household expenses — emergency repairs to sustain basic health and safety.
Vehicle expenses — repairs to primary vehicle for employment
(major repairs for vehicles over ten year will not be considered).
Utilities to prevent disconnection.
Work boots, safety glasses, other items required for employment.

Each case will be carefully reviewed for its own merits. Upon approval payments will be paid directly to the creditor or vendor.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE QUALIFICATIONS

Be a resident of Winnebago County.
Have limited financial resources.
Be seeking employment, seeking disability, or are already classified as disabled and unable to work.
Present an original or certified copy of a DD-214/DD-215 with a Honorable Discharge.
Present an or provide a valid photo ID and Social Security Card.riginal or certified copy of a DD-214/DD-215 with a Honorable Discharge.
If applicable, provide a marriage license, divorce decree, dependent information, death certificate, or other documentation as needed.
