The VAC of Winnebago County is proud to partner with veterans’ service organizations both locally, statewide and federally. The organizations below are ready to serve you and your family as you have served our country.

The Forty and Eight is committed to charitable and patriotic aims. Our purpose is to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, to promote the well-being of veterans, their widows, widowers and orphans, and to actively participate in selected charitable endeavors, which include programs that promote child welfare and nurses training.

American Legion

The American Legion is built on a promise from men and women who swore with their lives to defend and protect the United States through military service. The promise begins at enlistment, grows through training and discipline in the U.S. Armed Forces and continues after discharge, as veterans in service to community, state and nation.

AmVets Rock River Valley Post #922

AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans. AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard. With more than 250,000 members nationwide, we are veterans serving veterans.

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 24-6

We are a national association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. Our mission is to support and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to provide assistance and help to individual veterans, veteran care facilities, other veteran organizations and registered charities.We sponsor and/or participate in many motorcycle-related charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran care facilities and veteran charities.

DAV Blackhawk Life #29

Provides a variety of services to veterans in Illinois including help with filing VA claims for disability compensation, appealing claims decisions and securing transportation to VA medical appointments. Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Black Hawk Life #29 meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month.

Marine Corps League #83

Active, reserve, retired and veteran Marines continue the faithful tradition of looking out for the Marines to their left and right. Providing mentorship, career counseling, Veteran Service Officer VA support, assisting with transitions, and providing opportunities for family.

Marine Vets MC — Dogs of War

Our purpose is to support each other, provide support to those who have served, and bring awareness to our veterans and the struggles they have. “Our brother’s keeper” is the gold standard for our membership and our veterans. Taking care of our own since 1775 is a tradition we will maintain and honor. We do not claim territory, and respect all clubs. MVMC will hold a neutral club status and will follow proper protocol when dealing with all clubs. No one is above a handshake and greeting.

Military Officers Association of America — Northern IL Unit

MOAA is the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers. It is an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization. Members are from every branch of service – including active duty, National Guard, Reserve, retired, former officers, and their families. Our priority is providing first-class service to our members. We are the leading voice on compensation and benefit matters for all members of the military community. We provide expert advice and guidance to our members.

Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 201

The Military Order of the Purple Heart is Chartered by Congress for combat wounded Veterans. The Organization is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat or by an act of international terrorism.
Montford Point Marines Beloit-Rockford Chapter # 41

Mission. Founded in 1965, the goal of the National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc. is to foster and preserve the legacy of the original Montofrd Point Marines (circa 1942-1949).

Navy Club Ship #1

Navy Club is National Service Organization made up of citizens of the United States who has served, or is now serving in the United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, or United States Coast Guard. Together members fulfill our goal of helping those who have served, or are currently serving, in the waterborne services.

National Women Veterans United — Rockford She Vets

Women Armed Forces Veterans are much over looked when it comes to veterans benefits. We strive to help all vets get what’s due to them. Non-vets can join as associates.

United State Submarine Veterans Inc — IL Base

The USSVI supports a strong U.S. Submarine Force. The organization will engage in various projects and deeds that will bring about the perpetual remembrance of those shipmates who have given the supreme sacrifice.

Veterans Drop-In Center

The Veterans Drop-In Center is a nonprofit organization that provides essential social services to veterans by offering a variety of programs and services that address their unique needs. Support and services available include onsite meals, food and housing needs, personal services, medical support, transportation, job training and assistance, government and VA Services. Additionally, veterans and their families can find camaraderie, learning opportunities, guidance, and special events. All veterans are welcome.  

VFW Veterans of Foreign Wars

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, formally the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, is a patriotic organization of U.S. war veterans who fought in wars, campaigns, and expeditions on foreign land, waters, or airspace as military service members.

Vietnam2Now

Vietnam2Now is a family oriented veterans organization, for any veteran from the VietNam war era up to now, that meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm, refreshments are served after every meeting.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 984

VVA’s goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.
