We are delighted to inform you that the Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County recently provided support to a Veteran in connection with his claim for bladder cancer. Through our assistance, this individual was successfully awarded a 100% disability rating.
Our team encountered this veteran where they disclosed their bladder cancer diagnosis and commended the exceptional care and treatment provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Upon learning that the were not receiving compensation for their condition, we promptly invited them to our office to discuss their options and initiated the process of filing a claim with the Veterans Benefits Administration on their behalf.
We are pleased to report that, within five months, the veteran received confirmation of their 100% disability rating. As a result, they were awarded $18,196.60 in back pay and will now receive a tax-free monthly payment of $3,831.30. We are honored to have played a role in securing this well-deserved outcome for this veteran.
