Superintendent Position Update – Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County

The application period for the Superintendent position at the Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County (VACWC) closed on August 18, 2025, as originally announced.

The VACWC Commission and staff are now reviewing applications, conducting in-house background checks, and scheduling interviews with finalists on August 25 and 26, 2025.

Our goal remains to have a new Superintendent in place by October 1, 2025.

Appointment of Interim Superintendent – Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County

Willie Borden Jr. is a dedicated Government Veteran Service Officer with over two decades of U.S. Army service and extensive experience in veterans’ benefits advocacy. He has successfully assisted thousands of veterans, dependents, and survivors in securing federal, state, and local benefits, generating millions in awarded compensation. He is Nationally accredited through NACVSO and cross-accredited with VFW and DAV, Willie combines deep regulatory knowledge with a passion for serving the veteran community.
