Greetings –
It’s time for the 3rd Annual Who Gives a Ruck About Veteran Suicide 5K Walk. This year the event will be on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and aims to bring awareness to Veteran suicide and the community mental health services that are available to Veterans. We are again encouraging participants to carry a 20 lb. backpack (ruck) to symbolize the roughly 20 Veterans who succumb to suicide every day. Last year we had over 100 participants and raised almost $8000 from generous sponsors.
This year, all proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit local organizations/agencies that serve the Veterans throughout our community in various ways, so we’re setting a goal of $16,000!
I am reaching out to ask you to support our efforts by sponsoring the event. I’ve included a flyer that details the different levels of sponsorship so please let me know if you are able to help.
Also please help us spread the word about the event with your friends and colleagues by sharing our Facebook page – Who Gives a Ruck? about Veteran Suicide. And if you’d like to participate in the ruck march, please visit www.runsignup.com to register for the walk.
I appreciate your consideration, and thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Best regards,
Janine Idstein
